As self-explanatory as “exfoliate and hydrate” is, I’ve found it tricky to nail until now.
My routine has always included a
fruit enzyme scrub, and hydrators that I know now barely scratched the surface.
But I’ve finally incorporated acids in all aspects of my skincare routine and
my face is better off for it.
Hyaluronic, glycolic, lactic everything,
send it all my way!
Speaking of lactic acid, I’m
loving the Pixi Peel and Polish. It’s gentler on the surface of my skin than
the grittier scrubs I’m used to, but it does a much better job. I can feel a
difference in the texture after using this, as if the rough skin has been
sloughed away and the surface smoothed. That’s not a pretty visual, but the me
that emerges, pink faced and dewy is cuter, and that’s what matters!
The formula sounds magical; fruit
enzymes, which I love in skin care because they lift dead skin cells, sugar
extracts to polish, and lactic acid which exfoliates. I’m all for it! Just
don’t leave it on your skin for more than three minutes because I’ve somewhat
scotched my skin doing that before.
Vitamin C is a tricky one. I
haven’t liked a single vitamin C product or serum I’ve tried. Though I’m still
on the fence with the Ordinary’s, I like it enough that I use it consistently. What
I struggle with is that the dehydrated HA spheres feel a bit too rough for my
liking.
What even is a Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%? I don’t know. What I do know is that the science behind a
stellar Vitamin C formula is fascinating. It’s easily unstable and compromised
depending on what it’s mixed, but it’s a powerhouse in anti-ageing ingredient and
a potent antioxidant.
Together, these two are a glow
fail-safe, even on overtired or sick days. My skin always looks smooth, even,
plump, and it glows. And that’s a look I can get behind.
Do you have your own fail-safe
glow givers?
wonderful post dear and great advice about especially about the time limit for leaving on your skin!
