Deconstructing the face

I don’t do heat.

I grew up in the Mediterranean, and while that sounds dreamy to most, the feeling of melting from the inside is all too familiar! That’s why I moved to London. The promise of overcast skies and rain every other day? Sign me up!

I explained my base in detail when I posted about my Every Day Face. I’m obsessed with a flawless base, mostly because it covers my redness, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and heavily set dark circles, and I just love the process of doing it all!

Then again, it’s been so hot recently that I couldn’t stand the feeling of sweat running down my face, so foundation had to step aside.

Bare skin I’m not afraid of. But going bare at work was a frightening thought.

On a whim, I mixed Estee Lauder CC Crème with REN Vita Mineral Moisturising Cream and Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and I quite like the result! Being me, I still used Double Wear Concealer and baked with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, and went ahead with my usual eye, contour and highlight.

I’ve figured it’s not the worst thing after all, trying different complexion products and relaxing a little bit. I use very little foundation anyway, and mostly to cover redness, and I rely on concealer for the rest. And you know, maybe this is the best time to finally try the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops if I miss the coverage that much.

Do you make any changes when it’s too hot?

  1. I can relate so much to your weather intro! I love cloudy and rainy weather and I hate heat, especially in the summer!

    Have an amazing day!

  2. I definitely love rainy weather. It feels so cosy to be home all day in rainy weather except for when you want to take blog photos haha. These makeup products look gorgeous.

    1. It's been a nightmare getting decent daylight for photos lately! I'm glad it's going to be a bit cool tomorrow because I've missed foundation.
